Arizona received a “B” when it comes to government spending transparency, according to the Arizona PIRG Education Fund’s annual report “Following the Money 2015: How the 50 States Rate in Providing Online Access to Government Spending Data.”

FCC NET NEUTRALITY ORDER PROTECTS THE OPEN INTERNET

Today the FCC took not one but two critical actions to make sure that the Internet works for everybody. First, it issued a "Net Neutrality" order guaranteeing a free and open Internet. This Internet freedom order will prevent the phone and cable companies from granting fast lanes or other preferences to already powerful firms. The FCC also acted to override state laws that prevented local governments from building out broadband networks to compete with the phone and cable companies.

New Report Ranks Phoenix And Other Major American Cities For High-Tech Transportation Options

A new report by the Arizona PIRG Education Fund and the Frontier Group finds that Phoenix ties for 32nd among the nation’s 70 largest cities in terms of how many technology-enabled services and tools the city has to meet transportation needs.

Arizona PIRG Education Fund’s Annual Survey Finds Dangerous Toys on Store Shelves

Dangerous or toxic toys can still be found on America’s store shelves, according to the Arizona PIRG Education Fund’s annual Trouble in Toyland report. The report reveals the results of laboratory testing on toys for toxic chemicals, including lead, chromium and phthalates, all of which can have serious, adverse health impacts on a child’s development. The survey also found examples of small toys that pose a choking hazard, extremely loud toys that threaten children’s hearing, and powerful toy magnets that can cause serious injury if swallowed.
