The U.S. Surgeon General has declared e-cigarette use, commonly known as vaping, among young people an epidemic due to its popularity and health risks. One in 5 high schoolers reported vaping in 2018, a nearly 80 percent increase in one year. An entire generation is at risk of nicotine addiction, and millions of kids are already hooked on nicotine with serious implications for their health and future.

Get the Lead Out

Our children need safe drinking water – especially at school where they go to learn and play each day.  Unfortunately, lead is contaminating drinking water at schools and pre-schools across the country.  As our report shows, states are failing to make the grade when it comes to keeping lead out of drinking water at school.  Instead of waiting for more testing, we need to proactively remove the lead pipes and plumbing at the root of this toxic hazard for our children.

Arizona Gets a ‘D’ for Efforts to Address Lead in School Drinking Water

Reacting to pervasive lead contamination in schools’ drinking water in Arizona and across the country, the Arizona PIRG Education Fund and the Environment Arizona Research & Policy Center gave Arizona a “D” grade for addressing the problem, according to a national report.
